NCAA Game Summary - Saint Peter's vs. Manhattan

Springfield, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Rhamel Brown posted a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Manhattan Jaspers defeated the Saint Peter's Peacocks 72-58 in the quarterfinals of the MAAC Tournament at MassMutual Center.

Michael Alvarado netted 17 points for the second-seeded Jaspers (23-7), who battle either Niagara or Quinnipiac in the tournament semifinals, depending on the outcome of that matchup.

Marvin Dominique had 14 points. Chris Burke tallied 12 and Desi Washington put in 10 for Saint Peter's (14-17).

Manhattan only had a 32-31 lead at halftime. The Jaspers shot at a 40 percent clip in the frame, but did have four additional field goal attempts than the Peacocks, who netted 52.4 percent in the period.

After halftime the Jaspers controlled the game more thoroughly, sinking 47.6 percent from the floor and 19-of-27 from the free-throw line. Saint Peter's had only nine field goals after halftime.

Manhattan sank 29-of-42 free-throw attempts, compared to a 15-of-20 showing from Saint Peter's.
