NCAA Game Summary - South Alabama at ULM

Monroe, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - All five ULM starters scored in double figures, paced by 19 points from Jayon James, as the Warhawks defeated the South Alabama Jaguars, 71-54, in Sun Belt Conference action at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Chinedu Amajoyi netted 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for ULM (9-14, 6-9 Sun Belt), which snapped a two-game losing streak. Nick Coppola tallied 11 points and six assists, Tylor Ongwae had 10 points and nine boards and Marvin Williams also scored 10.

For USA (9-19, 3-12), Augustine Rubit was the lone player in double figures with 14 points, while Mychal Ammons registered nine points and nine rebounds off the bench.

Although ULM was outshot from the field in the first half, 48.1 percent to 44.8 percent, it still took a 35-33 lead into the break by shooting 3-of-9 from 3-point range and 6-of-9 at the free-throw line in the opening 20 minutes.

The Warhawks improved their field goal percentage in the second stanza (.583) as they cruised to the 17-point victory.

ULM won the rebounding battle, 35-27, and outscored USA in the paint, 40-24.
