NCAA Game Summary - Idaho State at Portland State

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind Kyle Richardson's career night of 28 points and 14 rebounds, the Portland State Vikings downed the Idaho State Bengals in overtime, 78-74, to close out the Big Sky Conference regular season at the Stott Center.

Richardson made 14-of-19 from the field for Portland State (16-13, 11-9 Big Sky), which has won three straight and will act as the No. 5 seed in next week's Big Sky Tournament. Marcus Hall tallied 19 points and eight boards, Gary Winston scored 14 and dished out seven assists and Andre Winston netted 11.

For Idaho State (11-18, 8-12), which has lost five of six and failed to qualify for the conference tournament, Tomas Sanchez logged 22 points and five assists, Jeffrey Solarin posted 19 points and eight boards and Chris Hansen poured in 18 points.

Although Portland State was outscored from the field in the first half, 45.8 percent to 41.9 percent, it still carried a 33-27 lead into intermission by attempting seven more field goals than Idaho State.

The Vikings led by 12 with under 14 minutes to play before the Bengals made their move, going ahead by four with 8:43 to play following a Hansen 3- pointer. Idaho State continued to lead in the final minute until Portland State knotted the score at 65 with 13 seconds left on a Richardson dunk. After Sanchez missed a jumper at the buzzer, the game went to overtime.

After Idaho State scored the first points of the extra session, Portland State took a one-point lead on its next possession and held on to that advantage down the stretch, shooting 3-of-4 at the foul line over the final 28 seconds to keep the Bengals at bay.

Portland State grabbed 15 offensive rebounds, leading to 15 second-chance points.
