NCAA Game Summary - Montana State at Northern Arizona

Flagstaff, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Max Jacobsen and Kris Yanku scored 16 points each as the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks coasted to a 61-48 victory over the Montana State Bobcats in Big Sky Conference action at Walkup Skydome.

Jacobsen also pulled down nine rebounds for the Lumberjacks (14-16, 11-8 Big Sky), while Gaellan Bewernick posted 10 points and nine boards. The win was NAU's third in a row.

Marcus Colbert led Montana State (14-16, 9-10) with 13 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the floor and Terrell Brown chipped in 12 points.

The Bobcats shot 52.9 percent from the floor and converted 6-of-10 shots at the charity stripe in the opening period. Although NAU was limited to 46.4 percent efficiency from the field in the first half, it took a 33-29 lead into the break after it attempted 11 more field goals than the visitors and connected on 6-of-12 shots from beyond the arc.

Colbert sank a 3-pointer at the 12:55 mark of the second stanza to bring MSU within three points on the scoreboard, but the Lumberjacks scored the next 14 points to take a 57-40 lead with only 3:33 remaining in regulation. Yanku scored 12 of his points after the break, while the Bobcats made good on just 26.1 percent of their field goal tries.

NAU dominated on the interior as it won the rebounding battle, 38-19, and outscored the Bobcats, 28-10, in the paint.
