NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Washington at North Dakota

Grand Forks, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Troy Huff knocked down a jumper as time expired to lift North Dakota to a 69-67 win over the Eastern Washington Eagles in a Big Sky Conference thriller at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Huff finished 6-of-9 from the floor for 14 points as North Dakota (14-14, 11-7 Big Sky) picked up its third victory in a row. Jaron Nash netted a team-high 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Jamal Webb tallied 13 points and nine rebounds. Aaron Anderson had seven assists for the hosts.

The Eagles (14-15, 9-9) came up short despite receiving double-doubles from both Venky Jois and Martin Seiferth. Jois posted 22 points and 11 boards, while Seiferth added 13 points and 15 rebounds. Ognjen Miljkovic scored 13 points and Tyler Harvey contributed 11 points which he accompanied with six assists.

EWU shot 47.6 percent from the floor in the first half, but it managed to sink only 5-of-12 attempts at the charity stripe before the break. Although North Dakota was limited to 28.1 percent efficiency from the field in the opening stanza, it went into the break trailing by just a single point at 28-27.

The hosts heated up to sink 57.7 percent of their field goal tries and the Eagles shot 50 percent from the floor after the break. North Dakota led, 64-57, with just under three minutes left before a late rally by EWU. Harvey made a game-tying 3-pointer with 16 seconds left in regulation for the Eagles, but they allowed Huff to grab an offensive board off of a missed 3-point attempt by Webb which set up the game-winning jump shot.

EWU made 49 percent of its attempts from the field and just 48 percent of its 25 free-throw tries. North Dakota was outrebounded, 40-33, and outscored, 34-30, in the paint.
