NCAA Game Summary - IUPUI at Western Illinois

Macomb, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Ochereobia registered a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds as the Western Illinois Leathernecks captured a 75-70 win over the Jaguars of IUPUI in Summit League action at Western Hall.

Also scoring in double figures for the Leathernecks (10-19, 4-10 Summit) were Garret Covington and Jabari Sandifer with 18 and 15 points, respectively, as the squad closed out the regular season by snapping a seven-game slide.

The Jags (6-25, 1-13), losers of four straight and 13 of the last 14 overall, were led by Ian Chiles with a game-high 27 points, shooting 4-of-5 behind the 3-point line, followed by Elijah Ray and Khufu Najee with 14 points apiece.

IUPUI led by two points during the first minute of the matchup, but the team ended up shooting only 9-of-26 (.346) from the floor in the first half, en route to a 35-28 deficit at the break.

In the second half the Jags improved to 56.7 percent from the field, but at the same time WIU connected on a sizzling 68.4 percent from the floor to seal the win.

The Leathernecks won the rebounding battle, 31-25, and also outscored the visitors at the charity stripe, 21-11.
