NCAA Game Summary - IUPUI at Nebraska Omaha
Omaha, NE (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Rostampour tallied 18 points and nine rebounds, as the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks made easy work of the IUPUI Jaguars, 88-66, in Summit League action at Ralston Arena.
Marcus Tyus netted 17 points, Justin Simmons had 15 points and John Karhoff scored 13 as Omaha (16-13, 5-8 Summit) snapped a four-game losing streak.
For IUPUI (6-24, 1-12), losers of three in a row, Ian Chiles came off the bench for a game-high 20 points, while Donovan Gibbs finished with 14 points and Marcellus Barksdale logged eight points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
Omaha held a 12-point lead with under three minutes to play in the first half, but IUPUI cut its deficit to just one at the break, 35-34, after scoring 11 unanswered points to close out the frame.
The Jaguars held a brief one-point lead early in the second stanza, but the Mavericks quickly took control of the contest with a 17-0 spurt and put the game on autopilot from there.
Omaha shot 52.2 percent from the field on the evening and scored 34 points off of 21 IUPUI turnovers.
