NCAA Game Summary - Belmont at Jacksonville State

Jacksonville, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - J.J. Mann netted 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Belmont Bruins cruised past the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, 76-53, in an Ohio Valley Conference clash at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Reece Chamberlain scored 16 points, Craig Bradshaw chipped in 15 and Chad Lang added 11 for Belmont (23-8, 14-2 OVC). The Bruins finished the regular season as champions of the OVC East Division and on a six-game winning streak.

Brian Williams tallied 15 points to lead Jacksonville State (10-21, 4-12). Darion Rackley chipped in with 10 points and four assists in the loss, which was the eighth in a row for the Gamecocks, who end their regular season at 4-12 in the conference.

Belmont was scorching hot in the first half, netting 63.6 percent of its field goal attempts, including 6-of-10 from 3-point distance. The Bruins went into the intermission with a 43-27 lead after Jacksonville State connected on 47.1 percent of its shots from floor, and missed the only 3-point field goal the team attempted.

The Bruins didn't slow down at all in the second half, hitting 62.5 percent of their attempts from the field. The Gamecocks dropped down to 32.3 percent shooting in the period, and fell even further behind Belmont's already sizeable lead.

Belmont had the edge in points in the paint, 36-18, and had a slight advantage in points off turnovers, 17-15. Jacksonville State won the battle in bench points, 32-17.
