NCAA Game Summary - Hawaii at Cal Poly

San Luis Obispo, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Eversley and Dave Nwaba each posted 17 points, helping the Cal Poly Mustangs to victory over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, 77-65, at the Mott Athletics Center in Big West Conference action.

Jamal Johnson had 15 points for the Mustangs (5-9, 1-0 Big West), who snapped out of a four-game losing streak. Kyle Odister also hit double figures with 12 points.

Garrett Nevels tallied 16 points for the Rainbow Warriors (11-4, 0-1), who saw a four-game winning streak come to an end. Christian Standhardinger and Isaac Fotu added 15 and 13 points, respectively.

The Mustangs got off to a good start with a 51.6 percent mark from the field in the first half, including 6-of-13 from 3-point range. The Rainbow Warriors, who shot 48 percent, went into halftime trailing, 41-32.

Hawaii failed to keep pace in the second half, shooting 43.8 percent from the field, including just 1-of-10 from the perimeter, while hitting just 4-of-9 at the line. Cal Poly held onto the win on the heels of a 48 percent performance from the floor and 10-of-12 at the line.

The Mustangs never trailed in the contest and outscored the Warriors 16-8 in second-chance points.
