NCAA Game Summary - Murray State at Eastern Kentucky

Richmond. KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarvis Williams netted 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Murray State Racers cruised to a 77-64 victory over the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in Ohio Valley Conference action at McBrayer Arena.

Cameron Payne also added 19 points on 5-of-12 shooting, along with seven rebounds and a team-high five assists, while Dexter Fields contributed 15 points for the Racers (8-7, 3-0 OVC).

Corey Walden scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting for Eastern Kentucky (10-6, 1-2). Tarius Johnson added 16 points and eight rebounds in the losing effort.

Murray State shot 50 percent from the field in the first half and hit 5-of-12 from 3-point range, taking a 38-29 lead into the half. Eastern Kentucky shot 36.7 percent in the first period, including 3-of-8 from 3-point distance.

The Racers continued to heat up in the second frame, shooting 52.2 percent, finishing the game shooting 51 percent from the floor. The Colonels hit 48.4 percent of their shots in the second half.

Murray State had the edge in rebounding, 40-26, and hit 19-of-28 free throws compared to Eastern Kentucky's 6-of-8 at the charity stripe.
