NCAA Game Summary - Austin Peay at Tennessee-Martin

Martin, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Travis Betran scored 32 points and Chris Horton tallied a double-double to carry the Austin Peay Governors to an 88-85 victory over the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks in an Ohio Valley Conference finale at the Elam Center.

Horton recorded 20 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks for Austin Peay (12-18, 6-10 OVC), which had lost four straight. Will Triggs contributed 14 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Terence Smith netted 20 points and Dee Oldham added 18 for Tennessee-Martin (8-23, 3-13), which finished the season with losses in eight of its final nine games.

The teams were tied, 38-38, at the half. Although Tennessee-Martin only connected on 34.2 percent from the floor, compared to the 44.7 percent showing from Austin Peay, the Skyhawks drained 7-of-17 from 3-point range to keep things even.

After the break the Governors improved to 54.2 percent shooting, while also sinking 20-of-23 at the free-throw line. The Skyhawks hit on 51.7 percent in the frame and cut their deficit to a single point three times in the last two minutes, but they came up short.

Austin Peay outscored Tennessee-Martin, 38-24, in the paint, but lost the rebounding battle (38-37).
