NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Kentucky at Austin Peay

Clarksville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Glenn Cosey scored a game-high 27 points, hitting 8-of-12 from 3-point range, and dished out nine assists as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels easily handled the Austin Peay Governors, 96-75, in an Ohio Valley Conference tilt at the Dunn Center.

Tarius Johnson netted 24 points on 7-of-9 shooting for Eastern Kentucky (19-9, 9-5 OVC). Corey Walden contributed 16 points and eight assists, and Eric Stutz chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds. The Colonels have won two straight contests.

Travis Betran scored 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting to pace Austin Peay (11-17, 5-9). Ed Dyson added 13 points with six rebounds, and Chris Horton tallied 10 points in the loss, which was the third in a row for the Governors.

Austin Peay had the hot hand shooting in the first half, netting 53.8 percent of its field goal tries. But EKU was the team that had the edge at the intermission, 40-34, after hitting 46.4 percent of its shots, including 8- of-17 from 3-point distance, in the frame.

Austin Peay did everything it could to make a comeback in the second half, hitting 62.5 percent of its shot attempts. But the Colonels simply dominated the period, connecting on 69 percent of their shots from the field, including 9-of-15 from deep. EKU outscored the Governors, 56-41, in the second half to extend its lead.

Eastern Kentucky outscored Austin Peay from 3-point range, 51-9, and had the edge in points off turnovers, 20-12. The Governors outscored the Colonels in the paint, 42-32.
