NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Kentucky at Kennesaw State

Kennesaw, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Corey Walden led all scorers with 21 points as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels earned a 68-60 victory over the Kennesaw State Owls as part of the Kennesaw State Tournament at the KSU Convocation Center.

Marcus Lewis added 19 points for Eastern Kentucky (2-0), which has won back- to-back games to open the campaign. Glenn Cosey provided 15 points and dished out four assists.

Delbert Love scored 16 points and had seven rebounds to pace Kennesaw State (0-2), which has dropped its first two contests. Bernard Morena had 13 points and came a rebound shy of a double-double and Nigel Pruitt chipped in 10 points.

Neither team shot well in the first half but the Colonels were a bit better than the Owls and took a 30-26 lead into halftime. Eastern Kentucky connected on 38.5 percent of its shots in the first half, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. The Owls had just seven total field goals during the first 20 minutes.

In the second half the Colonels found their rhythm and pulled away for the win thanks to a 52.2 percent shooting effort over the final 20 minutes. Kennesaw State connected on 44.4 percent of its field goal tries in the second half.

Kennesaw State won despite winning the rebounding battle (34-28). Eastern Kentucky forced 23 turnovers and outscored the Owls, 21-12, from 3-point range.
