NCAA Game Summary - Tennessee State at Hawaii

Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Christian Standhardinger registered a double- double with 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors coasted to an 85-55 season opening win in the annual Rainbow Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Isaac Fotu added 16 points and eight rebounds for Hawaii (1-0), which also received 13 points courtesy of Garrett Nevels.

Patrick Miller led TSU (0-1) with 15 points. M.J. Rhett contributed a double- double of 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Tigers.

TSU struggled out of the gate as it converted only 28.6 percent of its field goal tries in the first half. The Rainbow Warriors took a 41-20 lead into halftime after shooting 13-of-31 from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

Hawaii made 16-of-20 free-throw attempts to extend its lead after the break.

The Rainbow Warriors held a dominant, 47-28 edge in the rebounding battle which helped them outscore TSU, 15-7, in second chance points.

The Tigers will take on New Mexico State in Friday's round of the Rainbow Classic. Following that matchup, Hawaii will square off with Western Michigan.
