NCAA Game Summary - Saint Joseph's at George Washington

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 20 points from Maurice Creek, the George Washington Colonials downed the Saint Joseph's Hawks, 76-71, in an Atlantic 10 Conference battle at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Joe McDonald added 18 points for the Colonials (22-7, 10-5 A-10), while Patricio Garino finished with 17 points and Isaiah Armwood posted a double- double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

For the Hawks (21-8, 11-4), DeAndre Bembry led all scorers with 22 points to go along with eight assists, while Ronald Roberts scored 16 with eight rebounds, Chris Wilson finished with 14 points and Langston Galloway chipped in with 10 points. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for Saint Joseph's.

SJU shot 44.4 percent from the field in the first half, including 4-of-11 from beyond the arc. After falling behind by 14 with under six minutes to play in the half, 30-16, the Hawks scored the final 16 points of the period to take a 32-30 lead at the break. GW hit on 40 percent of its field goal tries and 4- of-12 from 3-point range in the half.

After intermission, the Colonials connected on 52 percent of their field goal tries, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range. The Hawks shot 44.8 percent and 4- of-15 from deep in the second stanza. Trailing by nine, 54-45, with 11 minutes left in regulation, the Colonials battled back with a 22-6 run to go up by seven in the final minutes and pull out the victory.

GW had a 39-32 edge in rebounding. The Colonials also finished with a 17-13 scoring advantage at the free-throw line.
