NCAA Game Summary - Rhode Island at St. Bonaventure

St. Bonaventure, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Xavier Munford delivered 32 points for Rhode Island as the Rams captured an 87-78 win over St. Bonaventure in an Atlantic 10 Conference battle at the Reilly Center.

E.C. Matthews put up another 24 points and Gilvydas Biruta 11 for the Rams (12-16, 3-10 A-10) as they snapped a six-game slide.

The Bonnies (16-11, 6-7) were paced by Youssou Ndoye who tallied 21 points before fouling out. Matthews Wright and Charlon Kloof accounted for 20 and 12 points, respectively, in the setback.

URI shot a decent 42.9 percent from the field in the first half, but the team was a mere 2-of-8 behind the 3-point line and turned the ball over eight times, allowing the Bonnies to move out to a 43-33 advantage at the break.

The Rams turned it around in the second half with a sizzling 57.1 percent accuracy from the floor and 19-of-23 at the free-throw line, not to mention limiting their mistakes to just five through the final 20 minutes of action.

St. Bonaventure, which shot only 1-of-9 behind the 3-point line in the second half, finished the day 4-of-16 on the perimeter.
