NCAA Game Summary - Penn at Cornell

Ithaca, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 21 points and seven rebounds from Dau Jok, the Penn Quakers edged the Cornell Big Red, 69-65, in an Ivy League matchup at Newman Arena.

For the Quakers (8-19, 5-8 Ivy), who snapped a three-game skid, Miles Cartwright added 15 points and five assists and Fran Dougherty finished with 14 points.

Nolan Cressler paced the Big Red (2-26, 1-13) with a game-high 28 points, while Devin Cherry chipped in with 12 points and seven assists, as Cornell lost for the seventh straight time.

Penn shot 42.3 percent from the field in the first half, including 4-of-12 from beyond the arc. Cornell made just 34.4 percent of its field goalS in the half, but made the most of its shots from deep, connecting on 7-of-16 from 3- point range. The Quakers took the slimmest of leads into halftime, 36-35.

With the game tied at 40-40 with just over four minutes gone in the second, the Quakers ran off six-straight points to take a lead they would never relinquish, as they held off the Big Red down the stretch to go home with the victory. Penn was able to knock down 55 percent of its shots from the field after the break, and hold Cornell to just 41.7 percent shooting.

The Quakers finished with a 26-20 edge in points in the paint. Penn also controlled the glass by outrebounding Cornell, 37-27.
