The Broncos took control in the second half as they overcame the halftime deficit and took a 44-39 lead by the 10:31 mark of the period. Boise State was held scoreless over the next six minutes, which allowed Air Force to jump back in front to a 50-44 advantage. Drmic scored nine points over the next three minutes to help Boise State to a 55-53 lead, but Yon tied the score with a pair of made free-throws with 42 seconds showing on the clock. Both sides failed to capitalize on late possessions, which sent the contest into overtime.
