NCAA Game Summary - Houston at UCF

Orlando, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaiah Sykes led all scorers with 24 points to go along with eight rebounds and six assists as the UCF Knights tamed the Houston Cougars, 104-83, in an American Athletic Conference matchup at CFE Arena.

For the Knights (12-17, 4-14 AAC), Daiquan Walker added 20 points and five assists, Matt Williams scored 12 and Staphon Blair chipped in with 11 points.

Jherrod Stiggers led the Knights (16-15, 8-10) with 22 points, while Danuel House added 18 points and L.J. Rose posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists.

UCF was hot from the field to open the contest, connecting on 54.3 percent of its shots, including 6-of-17 from beyond the arc. The Knights opened the game on a 28-6 run and took a commanding lead at the break, 50-32. Houston shot 40.7 percent from the field in the first, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range.

After intermission, the Knights continued to knock down their shots, hitting on 54.8 percent of their field goal tries and 5-of-13 from deep. The Cougars improved their shooting from the floor to 47.5 percent after halftime, but went just 4-of-16 from long range. The Knights maintained a double-digit lead for the entire second half as they coasted to victory.

UCF had the edge down low, outscoring Houston in the paint, 48-38. The Knights also outrebounded the Cougars, 40-33, and had a 50-38 advantage in bench scoring.
