NCAA Game Summary - Butler at DePaul

Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Barlow tallied 19 points and five steals as the Butler Bulldogs completed a 79-46 rout of the DePaul Blue Demons in a Big East Conference tilt at Allstate Arena.

Barlow hit on 7-of-9 shots from the floor for the Bulldogs (13-16, 3-14 Big East) as they snapped seven-game losing streak. Khyle Marshall added 18 points, while Kellen Dunham made up for his 2-of-12 effort from the floor with a game-high nine boards.

In the final home game of his collegiate career, Brandon Young paced DePaul (11-20, 3-15) with 24 points on 8-of-20 shooting from the floor. Billy Garrett contributed 12 points and six rebounds, but none of the other 10 Blue Demons who saw action managed to make more than one field goal try.

Butler coasted to a 38-18 halftime lead as it made 47.1 percent of its field goal attempts and limited the hosts to 28 percent efficiency from the floor in the opening stanza.

DePaul connected on only 37 percent of its field goal tries after the break. The Bulldogs made five shots from 3-point range and outscored the Blue Demons, 10-7, at the charity stripe in the second half to extend their advantage.

DePaul finished just 1-of-18 from behind the 3-point line. The Bulldogs enjoyed a 46-29 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored the hosts, 25-5, in second chance points.
