NCAA Game Summary - Middle Tennessee at UAB

Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tweety Knight got a shot to fall with four seconds remaining to lift the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a 55-53 victory over the UAB Blazers in a Conference USA thriller at Bartow Arena.

Shawn Jones tallied 16 points and 18 rebounds and Kerry Hammonds tacked on 11 points for Middle Tennessee (23-8, 13-3 C-USA), which has won 11 of its last 12.

Chad Frazier finished with 16 points and Rod Rucker contributed 15 for UAB (18-12, 7-9), which has lost consecutive games after a three-game winning streak.

Middle Tennessee clung to a 27-26 lead at halftime after connecting on 12- of-30 from the floor, compared to a 10-of-23 effort from UAB in the first half.

The second half was just as tight, The Blazers had a 53-47 lead with just under two minutes to play, but the Blue Raiders rallied thanks to 3-pointers from Hammonds and Neiko Hunter and Knight's last-second heroics.

UAB lost despite outscoring Middle Tennessee 30-22 in the paint.
