NCAA Game Summary - Tulsa at North Texas

Denton, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - James Woodard and Rashad Ray netted 18 points apiece as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane clinched a share of the Conference USA regular season championship with a 79-68 victory over the North Texas Mean Green at The Super Pit.

Shaquille Harrison scored 15 points for the Golden Hurricane (18-12, 13-3 C- USA), while he and Woodard pulled down eight boars each. Rashad Smith chimed in with 14 points as Tulsa notched its eighth win in a row to conclude the regular season.

For North Texas (15-15, 6-10), Brandan Walton and Alzee Williams finished with 20 points each. T.J. Taylor came off the bench to grab eight rebounds in the losing effort.

Tulsa took a 37-31 lead into the intermission after it shot an even 50 percent from the floor, including a 4-of-8 clip from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Mean Green were limited to 35.5 percent efficiency from the floor in the first half.

Although the Golden Hurricane missed all five of their 3-point field goal tries in the second stanza, they still pulled away by outscoring UNT, 22-12, at the charity stripe. The Mean Green hit on only 3-of-11 shots from beyond the arc after the break.

Tulsa never trailed despite being outscored, 21-12, from behind the 3-point line.
