NCAA Game Summary - Tennessee at Auburn

Auburn, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarnell Stokes scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out seven assists as the Tennessee Volunteers absolutely dismantled the Auburn Tigers, 82-54, in a Southeastern Conference bout at Auburn Arena.

Antonio Barton tallied 14 points and five rebounds for Tennessee (19-11, 10-7 SEC), while Jeronne Maymon and Jordan McRae each chipped in 13 points. Josh Richardson added 10 points in the win, which was the third in a row for the Volunteers.

Tahj Shamsid-Deen scored 17 points to pace Auburn (13-15, 5-12), and K.T. Harrell contributed 15 points with four assists. Asauhn Dixon-Tatum notched 12 points with two blocked shots for the Tigers, who have lost four of their last five games.

Tennessee was on fire in the first half, netting 50 percent of its shot attempts from the field, including 5-of-14 from 3-point distance. The Vols were able to take a massive 44-20 lead into the half after Auburn connected on just 32 percent of its shot tries in the frame.

The Volunteers dipped just a bit in the second half in terms of shooting, netting 46.7 percent from the floor. Tennessee connected on all seven free- throw attempts in the period. The Tigers improved to 42.9 percent shooting in the frame, and made 4-of-12 from beyond the arc. Tennessee was able to add four more points onto its already large lead by the time the final buzzer sounded.

The Vols outscored Auburn from the free-throw line, 18-8, and outrebounded the Tigers, 43-25, in the contest. Tennessee also held a 40-18 advantage in points in the paint.
