NCAA Game Summary - George Mason at George Washington

Washington, D.C. (SportsNetwork.com) - Maurice Creek scored 22 points to lead the George Washington Colonials to a 66-58 win over the George Mason Patriots in an Atlantic 10 contest at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Patricio Garino added 13 points for George Washington (21-7, 9-5 A-10), which had lost three of its previous four. Isaiah Armwood tacked on 11 points and 14 rebounds and Kevin Larsen chipped in 11 points of his own.

Sherrod Wright netted 16 points and Bryon Allen tallied 14 for George Mason (10-18, 3-11), which has lost three of its last four. Erik Copes collected 12 rebounds in the loss.

Both teams shot below 40 percent from the floor and recorded nine field goals in the first half. However, George Washington managed to claim a 26-24 lead at halftime by outscoring George Mason, 12-3, from beyond the arc.

The Colonials improved to 46.2 percent shooting in the second half, when they doubled up the Patriots from the free-throw line (12-6). George Mason shot 43.3 percent from the floor in the second period.

George Mason lost despite a 20-7 scoring advantage off of turnovers. George Washington won the battle of the boards (39-34) and also had the edge in second chance points (19-8).
