NCAA Game Summary - DePaul at St. John's

New York, SNY (SportsNetwork.com) - D'Angelo Harrison poured in 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the St. John's Red Storm held on for a 72-64 win over the DePaul Blue Demons in Big East action at Madison Square Garden.

Sir'Dominic Pointer tallied 14 points and Orlando Sanchez added 14 for St. John's (19-11, 9-8 Big East). Chris Obekpa tacked on 11 points and blocked five shots.

Brandon Young finished with 23 points on 9-of-20 shooting for DePaul (11-19, 3-14), which has lost 10 of its last 11. Billy Garrett chipped in 12 points.

St. John's opened the game on a 16-4 run and led, 33-21, at halftime. The Red Storm shot 60.9 percent from the field in the opening frame, while holding the Blue Demons to 31 percent.

DePaul rallied in the second half when they shot 50 percent from the floor, including a 7-of-11 showing from 3-point range. The Blue Demons were within three points with under four minutes to play, but Pointer sank a pair of free- throws and Phil Greene IV scored on a dunk off an Obekpa steal to give the Red Storm breathing room.

St. John's, which leads the country in blocks, had 14 rejections in the win. DePaul collected 12 steals, led by four apiece from Young and Garrett.
