NCAA Game Summary - Houston at Temple

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - TaShawn Thomas tallied 24 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Houston Cougars took down the Temple Owls, 89-79, in American Athletic Conference play at the Liacouras Center.

Danrad Knowles dropped in 19 points, Danuel House 13 and nine rebounds, followed by Jherrod Stiggers with 10 points for the Cougars (15-14, 7-9 AAC) as they ran their win streak to three in a row.

The Owls (7-21, 2-14), losers of four straight and eight of the last nine, were paced by Dalton Pepper with 24 points, followed by Will Cummings with 18 and eight assists, while Quenton DeCosey responded with 12 points in the setback.

In addition to shooting 53.3 percent from the floor in the first half, the Cougars were also 4-of-8 beyond the arc and a perfect 7-of-7 at the free-throw line as the team claimed a 43-39 advantage at the break.

Houston left no doubt in the second half when it connected on a staggering 72.7 percent from the floor, en route to the double-digit road win.

Ahead by as many as 14 points in the contest, the Cougars finished the night knocking down 61.5 percent from the floor, including 7-of-12 on the perimeter.
