NCAA Game Summary - Santa Clara at Pepperdine

Malibu, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jared Brownridge tallied a career-high 38 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Santa Clara Broncos handled the Pepperdine Waves, 86-78, in a West Coast Conference tilt at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Brandon Clark logged 18 points and eight assists, as Jerry Brown had 11 points for the Broncos (13-18, 6-12 WCC), who snapped a two-game skid.

Stacy Davis finished with 18 points and nine rebounds for the Waves (15-15, 8-10), who have lost five of their last six games. Malte Kramer added 13 points, while Malcolm Brooks chipped in 12. Brendan Lane netted 11 points and Jeremy Major had nine assists, although he shot just 1-of-9 from the floor on the night.

Santa Clara shot 54.3 percent from the field in the first half, as it led 47-31 at the break. Pepperdine connected on 46.4 percent of its field goal attempts.

Despite making just 28.6 percent of their field goal tries, the Broncos managed to hold on to their lead in the second period. The Waves converted on 42.9 percent of their shots from the floor, including 7-of-16 from beyond the arc. Santa Clara started out the frame on a 12-1 run to give the Broncos a 27 point lead. This allowed for the visitors to cruise to victory.

Santa Clara, which forced 17 turnovers, dominated inside as it outscored the Waves 36-20 in the paint.
