NCAA Game Summary - Texas Tech at Baylor

Waco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Royce O'Neale had a game-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to help lift the Baylor Bears to a 59-49 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Big 12 Conference play inside the Ferrell Center.

Brady Heslip added 14 points to help the Bears (19-10, 7-9 Big 12) get back into the win column after having a four-game win streak snapped by No. 24 Texas on Wednesday.

Robert Turner led the way with 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting for the Red Raiders (13-16, 5-11), who suffered their fifth straight loss. Toddrick Gotcher and Aaron Ross also reached double figures with 10 points apiece.

Baylor shot just 34.5 percent from the floor in the opening frame but half of the team's 10 field goals were from beyond the arc. The Bears also grabbed a dozen offensive boards in the period for a 12-6 edge in second-chance points, and they closed the half with a 7-0 spurt to take a 33-22 lead into the break.

The Bears shot just 6-of-24 from the floor in the second stanza yet managed to hang on for the win despite going the final 8 minutes without a field goal. Kenny Chery was a big reason for that as he was a perfect 7-of-7 at the foul line in the final three minutes.

The Bears were ranked 12th in the nation when they lost by 10 at Texas Tech on Jan. 15. This time around, they utilized their size to a 40-24 rebounding advantage and collected a whopping 21 offensive boards.
