NCAA Game Summary - Middle Tennessee at Louisiana Tech

Ruston, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jaron Johnson scored 15 points and Michale Kyser nearly had a double-double as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs claimed a 55-39 victory over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in a Conference USA battle at Thomas Assembly Center.

Kyser finished with nine points, eight blocks and seven rebounds for Louisiana Tech (23-6, 11-3 C-USA), which has won five of its last six. Alex Hamilton added 12 points and Kenneth Smith tallied nine assists and eight steals.

Neiko Hunter, Shawn Jones and Reggie Upshaw all scored eight points to pace Middle Tennessee (21-8, 11-3), which had a nine-game winning streak snapped.

The Bulldogs connected on 52.2 percent from the floor in the first half, while the Blue Raiders struggled to find their shot, netting 30 percent. Louisiana Tech led, 27-19, at halftime.

The two teams combined for only 17 field goals in the final 20 minutes, but the Bulldogs hit 7-of-10 at the free-throw line to extend their lead.

Louisiana Tech scored 24 points off of 19 Middle Tennessee turnovers. The Blue Raiders had only eight points off of 18 miscues from the Bulldogs.
