NCAA Game Summary - South Carolina at Auburn

Auburn, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Denson paced four teammates in double figures with 22 points, as the Auburn Tigers made easy work of the South Carolina Gamecocks, 83-67, in an SEC bout at Auburn Arena.

Denson shot 8-of-11 from the field for Auburn (13-13, 5-10 SEC), which snapped a two-game losing skid. Allen Payne tallied 15 points and five steals, Tahj Shamsid-Deen netted 14 points and KT Harrell pitched in 11 points.

For South Carolina (10-18, 3-12), losers of three straight, Brenton Williams paced all scorers with 26 points, shooting 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Mindaugas Kacinas added 10 points for the visitors, while Michael Carrera pulled down 13 rebounds.

Auburn set the tone in the first half but outshooting South Carolina from the field, 48.1 percent to 26.7 percent, on its way to a 39-27 lead at intermission.

The Tigers improved their field goal percentage to .571 in the second stanza, as their advantage swelled to as many as 20 down the stretch.

South Carolina committed 20 turnovers on the evening, which Auburn was able to convert into 22 points.
