NCAA Game Summary - Pittsburgh at Boston College

Chestnut Hill, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Talib Zanna netted 21 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Pittsburgh Panthers edged out the Boston College Eagles, 66-59, in an Atlantic Coast Conference battle at Conte Forum.

Lamar Patterson scored 16 points, pulled down five rebounds and dished out five assists for Pittsburgh (21-7, 9-6 ACC). Cameron Wright chipped in 14 points with six rebounds in the win, which snapped a three-game losing skid for the Panthers.

Olivier Hanlan led all scorers in the contest with 25 points for Boston College (7-21, 3-12). Patrick Heckmann tallied 15 points, and Ryan Anderson contributed 10 with five rebounds in the loss. The Eagles have dropped their last two games since the team's most recent win over previously topped-ranked Syracuse.

Pittsburgh came out firing in the first half, netting 53.8 percent of its field goal tries to take a 35-26 lead at the intermission. Boston College hit 47.8 percent of its shot attempts in the frame, but went just 1-of-7 from 3- point distance.

The Panthers hardly let up in the second half, hitting 45 percent of their shots, and added 11-of-14 from the free-throw line. The Eagles almost duplicated their first-half success, drilling 47.6 percent of their tries from the floor, this time making 3-of-9 from deep. Boston College could only shave two points off of the Panthers' first-half lead, however.

Pittsburgh had the edge in second chance points in the contest, 18-5, and won the battle in bench points, 12-7. Boston College held the advantage in points off turnovers, 22-9.
