NCAA Game Summary - North Texas at Florida Atlantic

Boca Raton, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Williams scored 19 points as the North Texas Mean Green narrowly defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls, 78-76, in a Conference USA clash at FAU Arena.

Brandan Walton and Colin Voss each had 10 points for the Mean Green (14-13, 5-8 C-USA), who have won three straight games.

Justin Raffington finished with a career-high 27 points for the Owls (10-18, 5-8), who extended their losing streak to three contests. Pablo Bertone added 26 points and seven rebounds. Both Raffington and Bertone added seven rebounds for FAU.

FAU drained 62.1 percent of its shots from the field in the first half and led 41-36 at the intermission. North Texas shot 51.9 percent on field goal attempts, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range.

The Mean Green connected on 56.5 percent of their shots from the floor in the second period, and went 15-of-21 from the free-throw line. Although the score was close throughout the frame, North Texas took the lead for good with 15:48 left when Vertrail Vaughns made two free-throws to put the Mean Green up 48-46.

Despite the loss, the Owls did a better job on the glass as they outrebounded North Texas, 31-24. North Texas had the advantage in bench points, 36-7.
