NCAA Game Summary - Dayton at Duquesne

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Sibert scored 18 points as the Dayton Flyers escaped the CONSOL Energy Center with a 57-54 win over their Atlantic 10 Conference rival Duquesne Dukes.

Dyshawn Pierre and Vee Sanford added 10 points each for Dayton (19-8, 7-5 A-10), which trailed by 18 points in the early stages of the second half. Devin Oliver made his mark with 11 rebounds and five assists, while Matt Kavanaugh posted nine points and nine boards.

Ovie Soko led the Dukes (11-15, 3-10) with 26 points and Dominique McKoy pulled down 10 boards.

Duquesne took a 39-25 lead into the intermission after it connected on 51.7 percent of its field goal tries including an 8-of-12 clip from 3-point range in the opening period. The Flyers were limited to 32.1 percent efficiency from the floor before the break.

Dayton heated up to sink 47.8 percent of its shots from the floor in the second stanza. The Dukes managed to make good on only 4-of-27 field goal attempts and also missed half of their 10 free-throw tries after halftime. Duquesne did not make a shot from the floor over the final 7:54 of the contest. Pierre made a hook shot from inside the key to give the Flyers a 55-53 advantage before adding a few insurance points at the charity stripe.

Dayton enjoyed a 42-32 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored the Dukes, 22-12, in the paint.
