NCAA Game Summary - Fordham at George Washington

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind 20 points from Maurice Creek, the George Washington Colonials defeated the Fordham Rams, 93-67, in an Atlantic 10 contest at the Smith Center.

For the Colonials (19-4, 7-2 A-10), who remain unbeaten at home this season, Patricio Garino added 18 points, Isaiah Armwood finished with 16 points and Kevin Larsen scored 14.

Branden Frazier led all scorers with 23 points for the Rams (9-13, 2-7), while Mandell Thomas chipped in 18 in the losing effort.

George Washington was on fire to start the game, connecting on a blistering 75.9 percent of its field goal tries in the first half, including 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. The Colonials opened the game on a 20-5 run and took a commanding lead at intermission, 56-33. Fordham struggled with its shooting in the opening period, making only 31.3 percent of its shots from the field and 3-of-11 from 3-point range.

After halftime, the Colonials cooled off considerably, shooting 40 percent from the field, but they built their lead to as many as 31 in the second half as they coasted to victory.

The Colonials had the edge on points in the paint, 28-24. George Washington also finished with a 37-33 rebounding advantage on the day.
