NCAA Game Summary - Virginia Tech at Florida State

Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Thomas knocked down a game-high 24 points as the Florida State Seminoles routed the Virginia Tech Hokies, 70-50, in Atlantic Coast Conference action at the Donald Tucker Center.

Thomas shot 6-of-8 behind the 3-point line for the Seminoles (14-8, 5-5 ACC), who bounced back from a three-game losing streak. Okaro White tallied 15 points to help the offense.

Cadarian Raines scored 13 points to lead the Hokies (8-14, 1-9), who have dropped nine straight. Will Johnston followed with 12 points.

The Seminoles shot 47.6 percent from the field in the opening half, including 4-of-7 from the perimeter. At the other end, the Hokies shot just 29 percent, including only 2-of-10 from beyond the arc, and they trailed 31-20 at the half.

Both teams shot an even 40 percent from the floor in the second half, but the Noles distanced themselves with a perfect 14-of-14 at the free-throw line to go up by 20 with 2:18 left, their largest lead of the contest.

Virginia Tech made just 3-of-9 at the line and 5-of-21 from 3-point range in the loss.
