NCAA Game Summary - Virginia Tech at Boston College

Chestnut Hill, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Joe Rahon scored 20 points as the Boston College Eagles routed the Virginia Tech Hokies, 76-52, in Atlantic Coast Conference action at Conte Forum.

Rahon shot 5-of-8 from 3-point range for the Eagles (6-14, 2-5 ACC), who ended their three-game losing skid. Ryan Anderson (18 points), Patrick Heckmann (14) and Olivier Hanlan (11) also reached double figures.

Jarell Eddie was the standout player for the Hokies (8-12, 1-7), who dropped their seventh straight. He logged a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds but was the team's only player in double figures.

The Eagles came out of the gates hot, shooting a blistering 68.4 percent from the field in the opening half. At the other end, the Hokies shot 43.3 percent and headed into halftime down, 46-33.

Boston College shot just 31.4 percent from the floor in the second half, but it was enough to outlast the Hokies, who shot a dismal 21.7 percent. Virginia Tech missed all seven attempts from 3-point range in the half and hit just five total shots from the floor. The Eagles led by as many as 30 points down the stretch.

The Eagles outscored the Hokies 24-1 in points off turnovers in the lopsided win.
