NCAA Game Summary - West Virginia at TCU

Forth Worth, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Eron Harris netted 22 points off the bench as the West Virginia Mountaineers took down the TCU Horned Frogs, 74-69, in their Big 12 opener at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

Juwan Staten added 15 points for West Virginia (9-5, 1-0 Big 12). Devin Williams contributed 12 points and eight rebounds and Terry Henderson tacked on 10 points.

Amric Fields matched Harris with 22 points for TCU (0-4, 0-1). Brandon Parrish posted 18 points and Kyan Anderson finished with 12.

The Mountaineers clung to a 42-39 lead at halftime despite shooting 39.4 percent from the floor. They were able to do so by holding a 10-4 scoring edge from the free-throw line, while earning six more field goal attempts than TCU, which shot 51.9 percent.

Both teams shot at a 42.3 percent clip after the break, but another scoring advantage from the free-throw line (9-6) for the Mountaineers allowed them to hold on.

West Virginia also outscored TCU in the paint (30-26) and off turnovers (16-5).
