NCAA Game Summary - Georgia at George Washington

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Kethan Savage scored 18 points as the George Washington Colonials defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 73-55, in a non-conference clash at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Savage connected on 7-of-10 shots from the floor for George Washington (12-2) and collected six rebounds. Maurice Creek netted 15 points and handed out four assists and Patricio Garino chipped in 12 points off the bench.

Cameron Forte paced Georgia (6-6) with 14 points and eight rebounds on a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor as a reserve. Charles Mann was the lone starter in double figures with 11 points, but he hit just 3-of-11 from the floor and had four turnovers.

Both teams struggled out of the gate with George Washington shooting 35.5 percent from the floor and Georgia just a bit better at 35.7 percent from the field. The Colonials did make all six of their free throws and claimed a 28-23 lead at halftime.

George Washington improved to 53.8 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes and outscored Georgia from both beyond the arc (9-0) and at the charity stripe (14-6) to coast to victory.

The Colonials finished the game with a 36-30 edge on the boards. Georgia had twice as many turnovers (20) as George Washington (10).
