NCAA Game Summary - Alabama at South Florida

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Perry tallied a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds as the South Florida Bulls held off the Alabama Crimson Tide, 66-64, in a non-conference bout at the USF Sun Dome.

Victor Rudd added 15 points and seven rebounds for USF (6-2), while Anthony Collins handed out nine assists.

For Alabama (4-4), Retin Obasohan led all scorers with 20 points, doing so on 6-of-10 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Trevor Releford scored 17 points, Levi Randolph netted 12, and Nick Jacobs chipped in 10 for the visitors.

USF used an 11-2 run late in the first half to carry a 29-25 lead into the halftime locker room.

Trailing by four with under 11 minutes to play, USF ran off a 8-0 run to take a 50-46 lead with 7:29 left on a Chris Perry jumper, and while the Tide got to within one possession several times, including on a Shannon Hale 3-pointer with 11 seconds left, the Bulls held on. Collins was a difference-maker at the foul line down the stretch, shooting 5-of-6 from the stripe in the final minute.

USF survived despite shooting just 3-of-13 from 3-point range. Alabama wasn't much better at 4-of-14. The Bulls biggest advantage came on the glass, where they outrebounded the Tide, 39-31.
