NCAA Game Summary - Rutgers at George Washington

Washington, D.C. (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaiah Armwood scored 20 points and brought down nine rebounds as the George Washington Colonials defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 93-87, in a non-conference affair at the Smith Center.

Maurice Creek and Kethan Savage had 18 points apiece for the Colonials (7-1). Nemanja Mikic added 14 points in 19 minutes while Kevin Larsen chipped in 11 and Joe McDonald accounted for nine rebounds, nine assists and six points.

Myles Mack paced the Scarlet Knights (4-5) with a game-high 26 points. Jerome Seagers added 23 points and seven assists, while Kadeem Jack and J.J. Moore chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Wally Judge grabbed 10 boards before fouling out.

George Washington took a 38-36 lead into the half despite only shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. Rutgers converted 56.5 percent on field goal attempts and 5-of-11 from 3-point range. The Scarlet Knights turned the ball over 10 times in the first period, allowing the Colonials to get off 12 more shot attempts.

The Colonials got hot in the second period, draining 68.2 percent of their field goal tries and going 4-of-7 from 3-point range, leading to the six-point win.

George Washington bested Rutgers on the glass 35-29. The Colonials also edged the Scarlet Knights 40-22 in the paint.
