NCAA Game Summary - UCF at Florida Atlantic

Boca Raton, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind a career-high 31 points from Pablo Bertone, the Florida Atlantic Owls downed the UCF Knights, 75-64, in an intrastate clash at FAU Arena.

Bertone shot 12-of-18 from the field for FAU (2-6), which snapped a six-game losing streak. Jackson Trapp scored 13 points, Marquan Botley netted 11 and Justin Raffington hauled in 12 rebounds.

For UCF (3-3), Isaiah Sykes shined in the setback with 23 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Calvin Newell was also impressive with 18 points.

Both teams shot greater than 48 percent from the field in the first half, but FAU attempted eight more field goals than UCF and took a 35-32 lead into the break.

The Knights took a brief one-point lead with 17:12 to play on a Sykes layup, but the Owls responded quickly with a 13-3 run to take their advantage up to nine points with minutes left. UCF never got closer than five points of the lead for the rest of the contest.

Neither team shot well from the foul line. FAU was just 15-of-31 (.484), and UCF was even worse at 11-of-28 (.393). The Owls' biggest advantage came on the glass, as they outrebounded the Knights, 46-36.
