NCAA Game Summary - Furman at Virginia Tech

Blacksburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarell Eddie posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Virginia Tech Hokies over the Furman Paladins, 75-54, at Cassell Coliseum.

For the Hokies (4-3), Marshall Wood added 13 points, Will Johnston scored 12, Adam Smith finished with 11 points, Joey van Zegeren chipped in with 10 points and Devin Wilson dished out 11 assists.

Stephen Croone led all scorers with 27 points for the Paladins (2-3), adding seven rebounds and four assists, while Larry Wideman scored 13 points and William Gates, Jr. added 12.

Though they only shot 41.7 percent from the field in the first half, the Hokies were able to take a 31-17 advantage into halftime by holding the Paladins to just 20.8 percent shooting, including a woeful 0-of-6 from 3-point distance.

While Furman shot much better after intermission, making 46.9 percent of its field goal tries, Tech really heated up, connecting on 51.4 percent of its shots from the field and 7-of-16 from beyond the arc. The Paladins could get no closer than nine points in the second half, as the Hokies coasted to the win.

The Hokies outscored the Paladins from 3-point distance, 36-12.
