NCAA Game Summary - Texas Tech at Alabama

Tuscaloosa, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Trevor Releford poured in 29 points for the Crimson Tide as Alabama downed the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 76-64, in the Big 12/SEC challenge at Coleman Coliseum.

Retin Obasohan added 15 points and five steals for Alabama (1-1) and Levi Randolph contributed 10 points off the bench. Rodney Cooper grabbed a team- best seven rebounds to help the Crimson Tide collect their first win of the season.

Robert Turner and Jordan Tolbert scored 14 points each for Texas Tech (2-1). Jaye Crockett tallied 12 points while he and Tolbert pulled down seven boards apiece.

The Crimson Tide shot 57.7 percent from the field and knocked down 6-of-9 from 3-point range in the opening half to take a 40-28 lead into the intermission. Texas Tech could not keep up as it was limiting to just one make on nine attempts from behind the 3-point line in the first period.

The Red Raiders converted 50 percent of their shots from the floor after the break, but Alabama managed to stay in front by a double-digit margin for the majority of the second half. The Crimson Tide protected their lead by hitting 10-of-13 attempts at the charity stripe over the final 20 minutes of play.

Texas Tech finished the contest 4-of-20 from beyond the arc. Alabama held a 32-26 edge on the glass.
