NCAA Game Summary - West Virginia at Virginia Tech

Blacksburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Ben Emelogu scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Virginia Tech over West Virginia, 87-82.

Adam Smith added 19 points and Devin Wilson tallied 16 points for The Hokies (2-0), who rallied from a 17-point first-half deficit to escape with their second win of the season.

Remi Dibo scored 17 points and Eron Harris tallied 16 points and six boards for the Mountaineers (1-1), who lost for the first time this season. Gary Browne added 15 points and Juwan Staten had 10 points, nine boards and seven assists for West Virginia, which nearly rallied from a nine-point second-half deficit.

Down two points, Nathan Adrian drained a three-pointer with 2:31 left to give West Virginia the lead, 77-76. However, Virginia Tech scored 11 of the final 16 points to come away with the win. Eddie's jumper at the 2:04 mark put the Hokies up for good.

Dibo hit a three with 24 seconds left to draw the Mountaineers within 83-82, but Smith and Wilson hit a pair of free throws each down the stretch to secure the win.

Virginia Tech ended the game 30-of-38 from the free throw line, while the Mountaineers hit just 21-of-33.
