Transfer Marberry scores 22; Lipscomb tops Sewanee 96-53

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Rob Marberry made 10 of 13 shots for 22 points and he grabbed eight rebounds as Lipscomb beat Sewanee 96-53 on Friday for the Bisons' 14th straight win in the series.

Marberry, a sophomore transfer from Western Kentucky, had 16 points and six rebounds in the first half as Lipscomb led 42-22. The Bisons scored the first six points of the second half for a 26-point lead.

Josh Williams added 14 points and six rebounds for Lipscomb, which returned four of five starters from last season. Michael Buckland had nine points and 10 rebounds as the Bisons outrebounded Sewanee 47-27.

Jorden Williams scored 13 points and Hunter Buescher added 12 for Sewanee. Bradley Pierson, the 22nd head coach in program history, coached his first game for the Tigers.

Lipscomb limited Sewanee to just 16.7 percent shooting in the first half and the Tigers finished at 35.6 percent.
