Keene with 32 in Cent. Michigan debut, 117-53 over IU-Kokomo

MOUNT PLEASNT, Mich. (AP) Marcus Keene had 32 points and 10 rebounds in his Central Michigan debut on Friday night and the Chippewas opened the season with a 117-53 win over Indiana-Kokomo.

Keene, who transferred from Youngstown State after the 2014 season, joined three other Chippewas in recording double-doubles. Braylon Rayson added 17 points and 10 rebounds, Cecil Williams had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Kevin McKay 11 points and 15 rebounds.

The Chippewas had 21 offensive rebounds and a 72-32 overall edge on the glass.

Central Michigan had a 27-point lead at the half and outscored the Cougars 58-21 after the break. Luke Meyer had 12 points and David DiLeo added 10.

Trent Elliot led IU-Kokomo with 19 points and Eric Miller scored 12. The Cougars made just 28.4 percent from the field with 31 of their 74 overall attempts coming from 3-point range.
