<p>PITTSBURGH (AP)  Tarin Smith scored 13 points, Emile Blackman hauled in a career-best 10 rebounds, and Duquesne held off Loyola of Maryland for a 65-60 win in the season opener for both teams Friday night.</p>
<p>Trailing by two midway through the second half, Duquesne took the lead for good with a 3-pointer from Spencer Littleson that made it 49-48 with 10:35 to play. Eric James padded the advantage with a pair of free throws and then a layup after a Loyola turnover.</p>
<p>Duquesne trimmed the gap to 53-52 on a free throw from Jarred Jones but couldn't overtake the Greyhounds down the stretch.</p>

<p>Jones and Andre Walker led Loyola with 21 points apiece. Jones also had 11 rebounds.</p>
<p>Duquesne was 24 of 58 (41.4 percent) from the field, hitting just two of its 13 shots from 3-point range, and held Loyola to 36.5 percent shooting.</p>
