Drumwright, Tucker lead Jacksonville State over Tulsa 84-73

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Malcolm Drumwright scored 20 points and Greg Tucker added 17 to lead Jacksonville State to an 84-73 win over Tulsa in a season-opener on Friday night.

Norbertas Giga added 13 points and eight assists for the Gamecocks, who shot 56 percent (30 of 54) and held the Golden Hurricanes to 40 percent (23 of 58).

Junior Etou had 20 points and Corey Henderson Jr. 15 for Tulsa.

Giga and Tucker had 3-pointers to start a 10-0 run in the first half put Jacksonville State up 18-11 and the Gamecocks pushed to lead to 38-28 at the half.

Drumwright's free throw with 5:16 to play made it 73-54 before Tulsa made a late push.
