It wasn't nearly as elaborate as the ruse Andre Iguodala pulled off, but injured Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli was able to exact some level of April Fools' Day revenge on his veteran teammate.

Iguodala pranked Ezeli in a video released Thursday by making him believe the Warriors cut him from the roster, going as far as having the report air on the radio during "The Murph and Mac Show."

In response, Ezeli smacked the 2015 NBA Finals MVP in the face with a cake during practice Friday.

"I got even," Ezeli said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Rusty Simmons. "The prank was actually a pretty good one. He knows I don’t really joke around about my job, so it kind of hit home a little bit. My life flashed in front of my eyes at that moment. … These guys are evil."

Iguodala presented Ezeli with a cake once it was revealed he was being set up, which the 6-foot-11 big man tossed right back at him, even though it barely grazed him.

"I was going to pull this elaborate ruse, but it’s April Fools' Day, so everybody expects a prank," Ezeli said. "I didn’t get him well enough with the cake in that video, so I got him pretty good today when he came in. He didn’t expect it."

Iguodala knew some form of retaliation was coming his way, but considering how cold his stunt was, he simply made the best of whatever Ezeli had in store.

"He tried to kill me this morning. … He was just upset, so he punched me in the face with a cake. He connected," Iguodala added. "Festus is my man, and we got him pretty good. He got me back."
