Williams (knee) returned to basketball activities Monday, but has yet to be cleared for full contact, Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis:

Williams has been out since late February with a left knee issue, but he looks to be nearing a return, which falls in line with the Cavaliers' goal of having the veteran available for the postseason. While Williams isn't cleared for game action, that step figures to come within the next couple of weeks, barring any sort of setback. Williams will likely find himself in a reduced, specialized role in the postseason as the third point guard on the depth chart behind Kyrie Irving and Matthew Dellavedova.
